JINS: MEME

Turn it on

Project overview

Much can be learned about health through the eyes—more than ever imagined. When JINS, a leading Japanese eyewear brand, entered the health tech space, they collaborated with the Japanese Neurological Society to develop connected glasses designed to improve well-being.

Minimalist frames by Satoshi Wada—renowned designer of the Audi A6 and Issey Miyake W watch—conceal advanced sensors, including 6-axis accelerometers, gyroscopes in the earpieces, and electrooculography sensors in the nose pads to monitor blink patterns and eye movements.

This innovative technology provides insights into posture correction, energy optimization, and early detection of potential health issues.

The project encompassed the entire user experience, from product naming and retail guides to app design, interface development, and creating the language to interpret health data.

The launch centered on the concept of being “ON”—empowering users to stay present by managing fatigue, resting effectively, and focusing fully on each moment.

In a culture where overwork and stress are common, these glasses are designed to promote healthier, more balanced lives.
